Degassing SMR 32 is a nitrogen-based gas tablet, which is in the form of 100 gr tablets, used in the degassing of Al-Si alloys.
Hydroscopic (Humidifier and retention feature)
The temperature of the molten metal is required to be in its equilibrium between 720 ˚C to 740 ˚C. Or, it can be dipped by a casting drilling bell while the temperature is decreasing.
In general, it is recommended to use 0.25% - 0.30% in crucible melting furnaces with the reaction time of 4-5 minutes.
Degassing SMR 32, starts separating after being immersed in the molten metal, creates a large amount of gaseous nitrogen and a small amount of CO2. This material allows to spread over the dissolved hydrogen in the metal surface. The decomposition of the capsules helps washing of the metal, causing slag formation on the cast metal surface.
